Memos from Michael Flynn's criminal case were partially unsealed Thursday, and they revealed more about Flynn's role in the special counsel investigation into whether the president obstructed justice.

Flynn, President Donald Trump's former national security adviser, gave prosecutors a voicemail recording of a member of the Trump administration reaching out to him during his cooperation with Robert Mueller. According to the memos, Mueller was briefed on multiple instances of that happening.

The memos also revealed Flynn was privy to conversations among Trump campaign officials that centered on potentially reaching out to WikiLeaks about the emails that Russians stole from the Clinton campaign.

The judge in Flynn's case has also ordered the Department of Justice to publicly release unredacted portions of the Mueller report that relate to Flynn. This is reportedly the first time that a judge has asked the DOJ to release previously redacted parts of the report.

Flynn pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about conversations with Russian officials in 2017. He's still awaiting sentencing.
