President-elect Donald Trump has announced his picks for three major roles in his administration.

Trump's team announced Friday that he has nominated U.S. Sen. Jeff Sessions as attorney general, U.S. Rep. Mike Pompeo as CIA director and retired U.S. Army Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn as his national security adviser.

Sessions served as the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of Alabama and Alabama attorney general. He became a senator for the state in 1997. He said he's "humbled" to be asked to serve as U.S. attorney general.

Pompeo was elected as a representative for Kansas in 2010 and has served three terms in Congress. He's a member of the House Intelligence Committee and served on the committee that investigated the 2012 Benghazi attack.

And finally, Flynn is a former three-star general who advised Trump on national security issues during much of his campaign. He could be a strong resource for the president-elect, who has little to no experience with foreign policy or military issues.
