For years, we've been hearing rumors Disney was working on a sequel to the 1993 cult Halloween comedy "Hocus Pocus."

And according to industry insider site The Tracking Board, it's finally happening. With, get this, Tina Fey on board to produce and possibly star. Yes, you can get excited. (Via Flickr / Mingle Media TV

Well, maybe not so fast. Fey and her production company, Little Stranger, have yet to confirm the news.

And BuzzFeed says Fey is actually on board for an unrelated witch film with Disney.

Still, other reputable sites are trusting The Tracking Board's intel. (Via Moviefone, io9)

That might be because The Tracking Board has a pretty detailed plot synopsis: "The sequel will pick up years after the original, focusing on a housewife who is related to the Sanderson sisters, who teams up with a witch hunter to save her children after they run afoul of some resurrected witches while out trick-or-treating."

Other than that, very little is known about the project, but Fey's involvement seems to have calmed some Internet nerves about ruining the original movie's legacy.

io9's Meredith Woerner says she trusts the "30 Rock" creator, so she's "cautiously optimistic" about the project.

Collider calls Fey's possible involvement "mind-blowing."

And Moviefone says Fey's "guiding hand" will no doubt make the movie great, even if she doesn't star in the film.

There's no word yet whether any of the film's original stars — Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy — will come back for more. (Via Flickr / Disney | ABC Television Group, Flickr / David Shankbone, Flickr / Marnie Joyce

But we have a feeling Bette would be on board ...
