"We started out making a film about Hollywood royalty," directors Alexis Bloom and Fisher Stevens told People magazine. "And we ended up making a film about love."

The documentary was filmed from 2014 to 2015 and includes home movies from the family. "Bright Lights" will air Jan. 7 on HBO.
