Man Arrested After Sharing Own 'Wanted' Post On Facebook

Finally, justice for a braggy status – like, real justice.

An anchor for WHTM calls it a new one from the "dumb criminals file."

"That suspect then liked the photo, shared it, and commented that the police would never find him."

Here's the original post from the Freeland Police Department, which says 35-year-old Lescowitch is wanted for aggravated assault and numerous other charges.

The department's next post reads: "CAPTURED!!!!!! SHARES OUR STATUS ON FACEBOOK ABOUT HIMSELF, CAPTURED 45 MINUTES LATER."

The Times Leader gives us the play-by-play. After Lescowitch's reposting, "an undercover officer used a Facebook profile of a fictitious attractive woman to engage in online conversation with Lescowitch through Facebook for about a half hour, pretending to be interested in meeting him and gathering key information about him."

Police eventually convinced him to meet this fake woman for a cigarette. When he arrived, police were waiting.

Citizens' Voice has more on the assault charge, saying Lescowitch was one of four people charged in the incident. "Court papers filed Nov. 27 said Lescowitch was wanted for hitting the victim in the head. The victim fell to the street, was knocked out and robbed while incapacitated."

Lescowitch was taken to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility Tuesday. He has a preliminary hearing Jan. 29.
