The longest-running Discovery show, "Mythbusters," is ending after next season.

"Our crazy, wild, amazing, wooly, wonderful and insane adventure is finally coming to a close," Adam Savage said.

"Yup, after 14 years, it's finally time to hang up the beret," Jamie Hyneman.

"Really you're hanging up the beret?" Savage said.

"No, not really," Hyneman said.

"When you get into the process, it teaches so much," Hyneman said.

And the process has been tested on lots of topics.

But all good — or entertaining — things must come to an end. By the end of the final season, 248 episodes and about 3,000 experiments will be in the books.

Savage told Entertainment Weekly: "I am most proud that we found a way to tell compelling stories that have real information in them. Making this show has fundamentally changed the way I think and act in the world."

There's no word on why Discovery is canceling the show. The final season is set to air Jan. 9.
