Police arrived at Brown's house after a woman reportedly called 911 from that location asking for help.
The dramatic lead-up to the arrest was documented on the artist's Instagram.
"'Barricaded myself in my house.' Have you seen my house? I'm going to barricade myself in a palace. I'm not coming out. For what? ... When you get the warrant or whatever you need to do you can walk right up in here," Brown said in an Instagram post.
And that's pretty much what happened.
LAPD Lt. Chris Ramirez told reporters, "As we are currently speaking now, RHD homicide division is currently serving a search warrant at Mr. Brown's location."
Brown was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
