On Friday, Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers declared a state of emergency in response to heavy flooding across the state.
The flooding has forced many people to evacuate their homes and seek shelter on higher ground, while several schools, businesses and roads have had to close.
The state of emergency will allow agencies like the Wisconsin National Guard to provide extra resources to help with rescue and recovery operations.
Warm temperatures this week caused snowbanks to melt too quickly. Because the ground underneath is still frozen, the runoff seeped into the rivers instead of the ground, causing the heavy floods.
