A massive winter storm continued to hit large parts of the southeast with heavy snowstorms and freezing rain Sunday, leading to widespread power outages and flight cancellations.

According to CNN, millions across the region are under a combination of winter weather alerts, flash flood threats and wind advisories. North Carolina, Virginia and Oklahoma have all declared states of emergency.

Large portions of the Southeast have also been hit with power outages. More than 500,000 residents have reportedly been affected, almost half of them in North Carolina.

There have also been widespread flight cancellations. Charlotte Douglas International Airport was hit particularly hard, with more than 1,000 flights canceled on Sunday. Several major airlines have offered travel waivers to customers traveling to and from areas impacted by the storm.

There's some good news, though: the storm is forecast to be nearly over by Monday.
