White House Admits Fault In Rob Porter Domestic Abuse Case

The White House admitted fault in the handling of allegations against staff secretary Rob Porter.

Porter resigned on Wednesday after reports he physically and verbally abused his two ex-wives. The White House faced backlash after several officials praised Porter following the news. White House chief of staff John Kelly said Porter had "true integrity and honor."

Kelly is also under heavy scrutiny after reports he knew of the allegations against Porter for months, since they were interfering with Porter obtaining a security clearance.

Additionally, Communications Director Hope Hicks recused herself from parts of the discussion involving Porter. Hicks and Porter are reportedly in a romantic relationship. Reports claim she played a key role in drafting the statement praising Porter.
