On Monday, Walgreens and Kroger announced they will stop selling e-cigarettes.

The two retailers are just the latest to ban the devices from stores. Last month, Walmart said it would stop selling e-cigarettes at Walmart and Sam's Club locations in the U.S.

The CDC is currently investigating the health effects of e-cigarettes and vaping. More than 1,000 cases of vaping-related lung injuries have been reported in recent months.

In a statement, Kroger said it's discontinuing the sale of e-cigs in its stores and gas stations "due to the mounting questions and increasingly-complex regulatory environment associated with these products."

More than a dozen people across the U.S. have died from vaping-related lung illnesses.
