A Russian cargo ship blasted off for the International Space Station Friday.

The ship is carrying 2.7 metric tons of food, fuel and supplies to the six astronauts aboard the space station. The unmanned ship is expected to reach the station Monday.

Less than a day before the Russian ship took off, a SpaceX cargo ship launched from Cape Canaveral. It's bringing the astronauts another shipment of supplies and is expected to arrive Sunday.
