Johnson & Johnson's stock plunged Friday following a Reuters report that its baby powder contained asbestos.

Citing "internal documents," the outlet says the baby powder company has been hiding tests of its talc-based formula that revealed trace amounts of asbestos.

The issue has come to a head recently after multiple women claimed in a lawsuit they'd gotten ovarian cancer due to their daily use of talcum powder products.

Since Reuters' report was published, the company's stock has dropped and its market value fell by about $40 billion.
