Puerto Rico will get $16 billion in federal aid to rebuild and recuperate after Hurricane Maria devastated the island.

It's a fraction of the more than $94 billion Gov. Ricardo Rossello requested. Some of the money will go toward fixing the country's electric grid and fund its Medicaid program.

The island can also apply for more money through other programs, or request more from Congress.
