Love songs didn’t do the trick. Paula Patton has filed for divorce from Robin Thicke.

The actress cited ‘irreconcilable differences’ in papers filed in Los Angeles October 3rd.

Those differences have long been rumored to include cheating on Thicke’s part.

In a deposition related to a lawsuit over the song “Blurred Lines” in April, Thicke said he’d been dishonest.

People obtained the transcript. "I told my wife the truth," he said. "That's why she left me."

Thicke also detailed his abuse of alcohol and pills in that deposition.

Thicke and Patton married in 2005, but have known each other since they were teenagers. They first separated in February. After which Thicke made various public apologies, and recorded the album called “Paula.” The first single: “Get Her Back.”

The album debuted to mixed reviews and lackluster sales. It sold just 530 copes in the U.K. in its first week.

Patton has remained relatively quiet since their separation, though in May she told Vanity Fair she would always have a “deep love” for her estranged husband. (Video via NBC / "The Tonight Show")

The pair has one son, 4-year-old Julian. Patton asked for joint custody in her filing.
