More than 2 million pounds of chicken products are being recalled in eight states over concerns they "may be contaminated with extraneous materials, specifically metal."

The USDA announced Wednesday that Arkansas-based company Simmons Prepared Foods is recalling several products. Those include whole chickens, legs and wings.

The recalled products were produced between Oct. 21 and Nov. 4 and shipped to institutions in Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Georgia, Minnesota, Oklahoma and Pennsylvania. As of Thursday morning, there have been no reports of injuries from people consuming these products.

If you recently bought any Simmons brand chicken, look for the USDA mark of inspection. If you see the establishment number is “P-1949,” “P-486” or “P-5837," the USDA says to either return the food to the store or throw it out.
