Nicaragua Kicks Out UN Investigators

The Nicaraguan government is kicking United Nations investigators out of the country two days after they released a critical report.

On Wednesday, the U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights published a report that said the Nicaraguan government is using violence to repress widespread protests. About 300 people have died since mid-April, when protests against social security reform began and morphed into opposition to President Daniel Ortega.

Now, Ortega's government says the U.N. investigators are no longer invited to stay in the country, according to AP and CNN Español

Ortega has refused to step down and has called protesters "terrorists" out to remove him from power.
