The nominations for the 2014 MTV Movie Awards were announced Thursday.

And, though this might not be much consolation, a few flicks that were totally snubbed at the Oscars have a good chance of winning a few of those solid gold popcorns, as Variety points out.

Both "Wolf of Wall Street" and "American Hustle" got eight MTV Movie Awards noms, including the coveted Movie of the Year award. (Via Paramount Pictures / "The Wolf of Wall Street," "Columbia Pictures / "American Hustle")

Both films failed to snag a single Academy Award, falling to other favorites like "12 Years a Slave" and "Gravity," which each nabbed multiple Oscars Sunday night. (Via Fox Searchlight Pictures / "12 Years a Slave,"Warner Bros. Pictures / "Gravity")

And if "American Hustle" manages to get enough votes before the MTV polls close, stars Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence could be big winners for the second year in a row.

The duo won gold popcorns for their performances in "Silver Linings Playbook," including best female performance, best male performance and best kiss. (Via The Weinstein Company / "Silver Linings Playbook")

But other movies could give "American Hustle" a run for its money.

"The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" has the second most nominations with a grand total of seven. But we're sure JLaw wouldn't mind this one winning too much — she's in it, too. (Via Lionsgate / "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire")

And "We're the Millers" could also have a chance. The comedy pulled in six noms in some of the sillier categories, like best musical moment and best Shirtless Performance. Ahem, Jennifer Aniston. (Via Warner Bros. Pictures / "We're the Millers")

Some other notable highlights — Robert De Niro, Kanye West and Joan Rivers will go head-to-head in the battle for best cameo. (Via Petr Novák, WikipediaWikimedia Commons / David Shankbone)

And Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto will face off against Kevin Hart and Ice Cube for the best on-screen duo award. (Via Voltage Pictures / "Dallas Buyers Club," Universal Pictures / "Ride Along")

This year's awards will be hosted by funnyman Conan O'Brien and will kick off live at 9 p.m. Eastern on April 13. (Via TBS / "Conan")
