A Trenton, New Jersey man woke up with a pain in his back but he soon found out it wasn't just a sore muscle.

"It turns out, it's a knife. That's right, police say he was in a fist fight on a porch after a night of drinking and apparently never realized he'd been stabbed."

The 42-year-old man says he didn't notice until he saw his brother the next day, after 10 hours of sleep. (Via Examiner)

According to the unidentified man, someone approached him on a porch while he was smoking a cigarette and asked for a light. When he refused, a fight broke out and the other person fled the scene.

The next morning when the man woke up, there was a 5-inch blade in his back. (Via Wikimedia Commons

A full description of the suspect is not available. When Trenton police arrived on the scene, the man was taken to the hospital.

But the police aren't buying it, saying something doesn't quite add up. "Lt. Mark Kieffer [said] ... the man had an interesting account of how it happened, but the department isn't so sure it's totally accurate." (Via New York Daily News

The man is expected to make a full recovery, and was reportedly in good spirits, but detectives say he has been "uncooperative" with the investigation.
