A bill just passed in the House would require lawmakers to pay out their own sexual harassment settlements.

As of December, the U.S. Treasury Department spent $174,000 over five years settling sexual harassment and discrimination complaints against lawmakers with taxpayer money.

The bill would also require the Office of Compliance to report settlement payouts online every six months.

The bipartisan legislation now moves to the Senate.
