SeaWorld says pneumonia is a common illness for whales in captivity and in the wild.

Earlier this year, the company — based in Orlando, Florida — lost one of its most famous orcas, Tilikum, to bacterial pneumonia.

Kyara was born in April. Her mother, Takara, was pregnant when SeaWorld said it was ending its killer whale breeding program last year.

SeaWorld says a veterinary team will examine Kyara to determine the exact cause of death.
