Jennifer Garner's Baby Bump Does Not Contain A Child

On 'Ellen' Wednesday, actress Jennifer Garner had a refreshing take on our obsessions with 'celebrity post baby-bods.'

Actress Jennifer Garner has a baby bump ... but this bump does not contain a baby.

GARNER VIA WARNER BROS. TELEVISION / 'THE ELLEN DEGENERES SHOW'"I am not pregnant, but I've had three kids, and there is a bump. I will, from now on ladies, I will have a bump. ... It's not going anywhere. Its name is Violet, Sam, Sera."

Garner told the audience to get used to her extra tummy. And it's a refreshing attitude.

How many headlines like this have you seen praising stars for slimming down inexplicably quickly after giving birth? Star called Snooki "super skinny," Hollywood Life straight-up said Kerry Washington was flaunting her post-baby bod and Us Weekly had an entire article dedicated to celebs' after-baby bikini bodies.

Although after her pregnancy in 2012, Garner got that attention too. This article from People has a headline from her trainer, calling her post-baby bod "strong and sexy."

But now fast forward to 2014. Since her last kiddo was two years ago and there's still a bump, it was time for the media to be unforgiving and, of course, assume she was pregnant.

The "Dallas Buyers Club" actress has cleared it up.

And Twitterites were on board with Garner's honest interview.

And really, women, celebrities or not, shouldn't be so wrapped up in losing that baby weight. The U.S. National Library of Medicine says losing weight too quickly after childbirth can make your recovery longer, saying breastfeeding moms should wait two months before trying to lose weight.

And in an opinion piece for The Huffington Post, written after Snooki slimmed down after her first baby, author Erin Cox points out several negatives with idealizing these post-baby bods.

"We regular women fantasize about having a chef, full-time nanny, trainer and team of support. It's the unrealistic aspect that makes it so fascinating. Do any of us really want Snooki's life or the scrutiny she's continually under?"
