Disneyland Resort employees are finally getting that raise they've been fighting for.

After months of protests, hotel workers at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, have approved a contract that gradually raises hourly minimum wages by 40 percent over two years.

In the contract, Disneyland agreed to boost the minimum hourly wage to from $13.25 to $15 starting in January. The company will also finally pay employees the $1,000 bonus they were promised earlier this year.

That five-year contract goes into effect on Monday. It benefits some 2,700 Disneyland Resort employees.

In July, a coalition of unions representing almost 10,000 Disneyland workers reached an agreement to raise their minimum wage to $15 an hour. That raise goes into effect in January, too.
