A new CIA analysis reportedly says North Korea does not plan to denuclearize.

Three unnamed U.S. officials relayed the information to NBC News. One of them was quoted as saying, "Everybody knows they are not going to denuclearize."

President Donald Trump is preparing for a potential meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un after canceling one last week. That summit's goal was to discuss denuclearization.

But according to the intelligence analysis, convincing North Korea to backtrack on recent nuclear advancements would be a more realistic immediate goal.

If North Korea really doesn't plan to denuclearize, this wouldn't be the first time it seemed open to doing so and then went back to business as usual — North Korea has repeatedly dangled the idea of denuclearization in exchange for international aid and easing tensions.
