Chris Brown has been released from jail. Granted, it's hard to remember what he was even in for this time.

The controversial singer was released early Monday in Los Angeles, according to authorities. As a refresher, he'd been in lock-up since March, when he was arrested for violating the rules of a court-ordered rehab center. (Via RCA Records / Chris Brown)

In May, Brown admitted he'd violated his probation by getting involved in an altercation in Washington, D.C. last fall. The judge ordered that Brown remain in jail.

All these violations are related to the probation Brown's on for the headline-making assault against then-girlfriend Rihanna back in 2009. (Via CNN, The Huffington Post)

After he was released, the 25-year-old singer Tweeted thanks and said he would be getting back to his music.

But, there's plenty standing in his way. He has hundreds of hours of community service to complete, as well as a trial in that D.C. altercation case.

As E! reported, Brown has received treatment for bipolar disorder and possible substance abuse.
