Matt PichtBuckingham Palace is hiring! Unfortunately, most of the top jobs are already spoken for.
The modern home of the U.K.'s royal family is looking for a housekeeper. The job listing says applicants will "clean and care for interiors and items from carpets and furniture to historic vases and irreplaceable paintings."

Hospitality experience is apparently a plus but not a prerequisite; the palace says it's "more interested in your outstanding team working skills" and promises on-the-job training.
This is a big job: Buckingham Palace takes up about 830,000 square feet of floorspace in total, including 52 principal bedrooms and 188 staff bedrooms. The role also includes planning special events and taking care of guests — and the palace has some pretty high-profile ones.
The pay is just over $22,000 a year, which might not sound like much. But meals and housing are included — also, the housing is in a freaking palace, so the monarchy can probably get away with underpaying a little bit.
If housework isn't your thing, the monarchy also has a couple of other positions available. Buckingham Palace currently needs a groundskeeper, a property manager and an assistant manager for ticketing and sales. And St. James's Palace, which is where the royal court is formally based, needs a merchandising assistant and a project assistant for its online collections.

The palace is accepting applications for the role until September 18. Unfortunately, face time with the queen is not guaranteed.
