When it comes to Amazon's newest upgrade for its voice-activated speakers, "please" is the magic word.
The online retail giant unveiled a new kid-oriented service for its Echo devices Wednesday that will actually compliment a child when they ask Alexa a question using the word "please."
Called FreeTime for Alexa, the upgrade is also equipped with controls that let parents filter out songs with explicit lyrics, block voice purchases by their kids and even set bedtime limits that will temporarily suspend Amazon devices.
For its part, Amazon told CNBC it does not plan to collect information on users of this new kid-friendly service. The company plans to roll out FreeTime on Alexa in May.
