Will Smith Is Skipping The Oscars Because He Says It'd Be 'Uncomfortable'
Jan. 21, 2016
What would really be uncomfortable is if Will Smith went to the Oscars without Jada Pinkett Smith. Smith made that joke while speaking to Robin Roberts on "Good Morning America" on Thursday and said he was joining his wife and skipping out on his Oscars reservation.
Smith said he was out of the country when Pinkett Smith announced on Facebook she would not attend the Oscars and urged others to do the same. He later told Roberts he "heard her words, and I was knocked over. I was happy to be married to that woman."
If you’re keeping count, that’s at least two actors (Will and Jada) and one director (Spike Lee) who have all publicly said they won’t be at the Academy Awards ceremony Feb. 28.
A few questions, though: Will any others in the entertainment industry follow suit? More importantly, Lee said he’ll be at a New York Knicks game instead; what will the Smiths be doing in lieu of the awards?
