Read Frank Ocean's Powerful Response To The Orlando ShootingJune 21, 2016
Frank Ocean just reminded us why we're impatiently awaiting his next album.
He published a Tumblr post today reacting to the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando. It's deeply personal, reflective poetry. He writes:
"I heard on the news that the aftermath of a hate crime left piles of bodies on a dance floor this month. I heard the gunman feigned dead among all the people he killed. I heard the news say he was one of us."
Ocean's piece echoes a 2012 Tumblr post in which he came out as bisexual.
His musings on homophobia and depression in the LGBT community remind us why his artistic voice is vital.
I would wait patiently for a Frank Ocean album if it means we got a Frank Ocean book of essays instead. https://t.co/Uf7fVn0tS3— Britt Julious (@britticisms) June 21, 2016
