Hackers Stole And Exposed Leslie Jones' Nude Photos And Private DocumentsAugust 24, 2016
The internet has been used as a vicious weapon against Leslie Jones since "Ghostbusters" debuted last month.
Her website, justleslie.com, was taken down Wednesday after it was reportedly hacked. What appeared to be the comedian’s private photos and documents were exposed on the site, including her driver’s license and nude photographs. The Washington Post reports the stolen photos are now being shared across 4chan's "Politically Incorrect" board. The website was also hacked to display a photo of Harambe the gorilla on Jones' homepage (Jones' Twitter trolls made dozens of racist references to Harambe.)
No one has claimed responsibility for the cyberattack, but it comes after Jones briefly took down her Twitter account last month because she was receiving so many racist and misogynistic insults.
Leslie Jones just spent 2 weeks cheering on American athletes of all genders, races, sexualities, and religions... and comes back to this.— Charles Clymer (@cmclymer) August 24, 2016
What Leslie Jones is enduring for being a black woman is beyond abhorrent. https://t.co/F6UnBNd59D— roxane gay (@rgay) August 25, 2016

A guy tweeted me the Ghostbusters box office numbers as some sort of justification for the Leslie Jones hacking. IMAGINE BEING SO FRAIL— Sara Schaefer (@saraschaefer1) August 24, 2016
Maybe one day Leslie Jones can trend because people appreciate her work instead of because there are bullies in the world.— Ben Greenman (@bengreenman) August 24, 2016
To be clear: Leslie Jones shouldn't need to be strong, we shouldn't have to avoid the comments.— Amma Marfo (@ammamarfo) August 24, 2016
Terrible people should stop being terrible.
