On "Last Week Tonight," host John Oliver had a few words for the Paris attackers. It was the deadliest attack on French soil since WWII, and Oliver wasted no time in delivering a moment of "premium cable profanity."
"F*** these a**holes. F*** them sideways," Oliver quipped.
Oliver explained how France will prevail in spite of these attacks.
"If you are in a war of culture and lifestyle with France, good f***ing luck," he said. "Go ahead. Bring your bankrupt ideology. They’ll bring Jean-Paul Sartre, Édith Piaf, fine wine, Gauloise cigarettes, (Albert) Camus, camembert, madeleines, macarons ... and the f***ing croquembouche."
John Oliver really said what was on the minds of of many and the premium cable world of HBO allowed him to do exactly that.
