Jason Bourne Regains Memory And Love Of Hurting People In New Trailer

April 21, 2016

Jason Bourne, aka David Webb, is back. Bourne, played by Matt Damon, is more aware of his identity in this fifth installment of the franchise, but he's still wrecking shit. One thing we've gathered from watching the "Jason Bourne" trailer: You probably don't want to take a left hook from a super soldier with identity issues.

NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden is also mentioned in the trailer. That could signal some sort of privacy element in this film.

This film supposedly deviates from the Robert Ludlum books on which the Bourne movies are based.

Damon was absent in the last Bourne film, "The Bourne Legacy," which followed the story of Aaron Cross (played by Jeremy Renner), another super soldier.

Cross doesn't appear in this film, but Julia Stiles returns to the franchise to reprise her role as Nicky Parsons.

"Jason Bourne" hits theaters July 29.
