A Farewell Song To 2016 From Stephen Colbert, Michael Stipe And ... James Franco

December 16, 2016

2016 has been a weird, weird year. So what better way to say farewell than with a saucy song?

Stephen Colbert turned R.E.M.'s "It's The End of The World" into "It's The End Of The Year As We Know It."

Michael Stipe joined but looked pretty peeved for most of the song.

The lyrics summarize some of the strangest things we've seen this year ― from the alt-right movement to fake news and Ken Bone.

Then James Franco walks in. And there are fireworks.

This might be the most fitting tune to spin at your New Year's party. Good riddance, 2016.
