What Would a Government Shutdown Actually Mean?

You've probably heard the phrase "government shutdown," but you might now exactly what that means. 



Republicans and Democrats have until 12:01 Tuesday morning to come to an agreement, or else much of the federal government will begin shutting down. House Republicans are currently putting together a third proposal to keep it funded, but the Senate is widely expected to reject it.
