The dramatic ending to the Alabama-Auburn game last weekend reportedly played a part in the shooting death 36-year-old Michelle Shepherd.

Twenty-eight year old Adrian Briskey is charged with murder after witnesses say she shot and and killed Shepherd over her reaction to the game.

"Witnesses say Briskey flew into a rage when she saw the sisters joking about the game." (Via WTHR)

The victim's sister said they were attending an Iron Bowl party at Briskey's home in a Birmingham, Alabama suburb and that Briskey was intoxicated.

"A 36-year-old mother of three was shot to death in the parking lot of Briskey's home by Briskey. Briskey has no prior criminal history and alcohol may have been a factor. But a sad, sad outcome there" (Via WDIV)

There are two differing accounts as to what actually happened. Shephard's sister Nikita says the two were trapped in the parking lot when trying to leave the party. But police say there may have been a physical confrontation before the shooting.

"The police say that Briskey and Shephard got into an argument and that argument spilled out into the parking lot and they were actually fighting. Briskey then pulled out a gun and shot Shepherd." (Via ESPN)

Briskey was arrested but released from jail after posting a $75,000 bond Monday.
