Baby, baby, baby, oh! Could the Biebs be a daddy? That’s what one California woman is hoping to prove. ABC News explains.

CECILIA VEGA: “The fresh-faced Justin Bieber, 17 years old, is accused of fathering a child with a 20-year-old woman. She’s threatening to slap him with a paternity lawsuit- she wants him to take a test. She’s saying he’s the father of her 3-month-old baby boy. She’s saying that they had relations behind, backstage at one of his concerts.”
ROB NELSON: “Has he even hit puberty to have relations?”
CECILIA VEGA: “I don’t know- he’s 17.”

A legal analyst tells Boston’s NECN, take the test, Biebs- they’re gonna make you do it anyway.

ROBERT JUBINVILLE: “She can try, and a judge will probably order it if, uh, unless there’s evidence she was not even at the event and they can prove that. But it’s not a very high threshold to get him to take a DNA test. And if I’m his lawyer and he’s not the person who had the child, had the affair with her, you give a DNA sample. It’s very simple today.”

And the Washington Post argues- true or false- these claims are a big deal for Bieber’s career.

“… they are notable because they mark the first time that Bieber has been caught up in a scandal. Prior to this moment, the wholesome kid … hadn’t been involved in anything much more controversial than a water balloon fight…”

But The Telegraph suggests this could be even more damaging for the Biebs’ supposed baby mama.

“If [her] claims are true she leaves herself vulnerable to possible prosecution for statutory rape of a minor. By her account she would have been 19 at the time of the encounter but the singer would have been only 16. California's age of consent is 18.”

The woman claims she and Justin’s one time- and his first time- lasted just 30 seconds, making Today’s Kathie Lee and Hoda even more skeptical of the story.

KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: “Here’s what I also think, is if it’s a lie, she should also have charges brought against her."
HODA KOTB: “For defamation?”
KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: “Yes, for defamation of character. There’s gotta be a stop to this at some point, too.”
HODA KOTB: “Plus, the timing is questionable because her, her lawsuit is coming- her suit against him is coming right when his album is released.”
KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: “Yeah, the baby’s three months old. What about when she got pregnant? Timing- that’s how cynical we’ve become as a culture. We think everything’s planned.”

Bieber’s camp denies the daddy drama, calling the lawsuit “malicious, defamatory and demonstrably false.”
