Arrested and detained for 10 hours after … painting your nails? That’s sort of what happened to one woman after a Southwest Airlines flight. MSNBC reports.

“Jeanie Daniels reportedly was painting her fingernails Feb. 26 during a flight from Los Angeles to Houston, where her boyfriend lives, when a flight attendant asked her to stop because of the smell.”

But Daniels realized she only had two nails left to paint, so she headed into the bathroom to paint them. When she got out of the bathroom, though, another flight attendant was waiting for her, and the two argued.

DANIELS: “I was like, ‘would you just stop?’ And I was loud. She wouldn’t end the conversation.”
“For using a curse words, two officers were waiting for Daniels as she exited the plane at the airport.”

And then, LA’s KNX radio reports …

“... the officers interviewed the flight attendant and a witness, then called the District Attorney’s Office to ask if they would accept the charge of ‘abusive profane language.’ … The charge was later dismissed by a judge. After more than 10 hours in jail, Daniels was released.”

LA Late has a statement from Southwest.

“… The airport police became involved because of the passenger’s behavior and a verbal altercation with a Southwest Airlines crew member. Southwest Airlines is responsible for the safety of all of our passengers and Employees.”

But media are noticing, this seems like more in a long string of incidents from Southwest.

“Why does all this stuff happen on Southwest Airlines?”

And LAist expands on that…

“It's always best not to piss off a Southwest employee, based on recent headline-making incidents, like in September, when ‘L-Word’ star Leisha Hailey and her girlfriend got kicked off their flight after a verbal scuffle that followed a flight attendant asking the couple to stop kissing. Southwest has also kicked off Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong for wearing baggy pants, and Kevin Smith for taking up too much space in his seat.”
