“You may be two of the stupidest teens I have ever encountered, and that’s saying something…I once taught a cheerleading seminar to a young Sarah Palin. ... You’ve got Britney Spears and her shaved head. Lindsey Lohan looks like something out of Lord of the Rings. Ann Coulter.” (20th Century Fox)
Fox's hit musical comedy "Glee" may have won a Golden Globe, but it's not winning the support of conservatives.
While kids are crazy practicing the four-part harmonies of Like a Prayer, others — like Fox News's Bill O'Reilly — are calling out "Glee" for "cheap shots" and a liberal bias.
"You don't ever see — except for '24' — that's the only show that mocks left-wing people, all the others mock right-wing people."
And others are asking the same questions. Andrew Breitbart's Big Hollywood blog says "Glee" writers took a sharp left turn once the show gained an audience.
"'Glee' is millions of dollars of sound and fury aimed squarely at your children. And as we can now see, the creators are all about getting between you and your kids with their political and social agendas."
Mediaite doesn't deny the show's liberal slant, but it does say conservatives could probably learn a thing or two from its popularity.
"If Glee’s ratings are anything to go by, the GOP might consider putting their political platforms to music in order to make some inroads with the under 25’s."
And NewsBusters says get over it — the show is all about entertainment.
"Here is more proof there is a vast chasm between Fox News and Fox Entertainment in Hollywood."
Whatever your politics, the "Glee" kids can sing.
"And that's how Sue, sees it."
