With the Libyan rebels taking over Tripoli and setting up its government, what does the U.S. and NATO do now?  Washington Institute for Near East Policy's Michael Singh tells Fox News, even though the war could be close to over, there’s still a lot of work to be done.

“The regime has essentially fallen but the question is what happens now? There are pockets of resistance in Tripoli itself and there are whole cities that the rebels went around and are Gaddafi’s strongholds so we don’t know if this is going to turn into a stable situation or something like an insurgency.”

So if there’s still so much to be done, NATO has to stay and make sure Gaddafi is caught right?  According to Britain’s Defense Secretary Liam Fox...

“‘... NATO is providing intelligence and reconnaissance assets’ to the insurgents ‘to help them track down Colonel Qaddafi and other remnants of the regime.’”

Seems simple enough.  NATO stays and helps the rebels find Gaddafi.  However, Reuters reports the U.S. and NATO are distancing themselves from finding the Libyan leader because their mission is to not assassinate Gaddafi but rather protect the Libyan people.

But not everyone is happy with the way NATO is handling the protection of civilian lives in Libya.  The co-chair of the Green Party Farheen Hakeem says,

“NATO’s claim of protecting civilian lives has become increasingly implausible. Unfortunately, Secretary of State Clinton’s refusal to grant the Libyan UN ambassador a visa has censored Libya’s own collected statistics on civilian casualties resulting from the raids.”

Let’s remember the United Kingdom and the U.S. are both a part of NATO.  The U.K. wants to provide assistance to find Gaddafi and the U.S. doesn’t. But do Americans think the U.S. will keep ground forces out of Libya? According to RT's The Alyona Show, not a chance.

"But will we see a repeat of history where the U.S. will want to turn this into this? We already know the U.S. sent CIA Operatives in March but the question is not if we want to send in actual troops now, but will we change our minds at a later date? Ali said “Of course, as long as there is oil there.” Kevin agreed. He added “Yep its America. Its what we do.”  Paul tells us “Our troops will go to Libya. This is far from over.”
