All you need is...waffles? Some Waffle House locations are offering a cheap dining alternative this Valentine’s Day. Georgia’s WALB reports.
“It will have tablecloths. It will have alcohol-free champagne. The lighting will be dimmer. It will be cloth napkins instead of paper. The atmosphere will be more of a five-star sit down and less fast-production Waffle House.”
Don’t expect to just eat biscuits and gravy and other breakfast fare. Waffle House is opening up a whole new menu for the night.
“Though waffles will still be available, they will also offers a special menu with things such as ribeye and eggs, pork chop dinners and T-bone dinners.”
But is it tacky to take your sweetheart to Waffle House on the most romantic night of the year?
A blogger from the Tulsa World says, no, offering up a few reasons why.
“1. Waffle House could be a reasonable alternative to more expensive places that many folks can't afford. 2. The novelty of it, for those who live a little off the grid.”
But, WXIN in Indianapolis says taking a date to Waffle House could put you in a sticky situation.
“Make sure you’ve got a ring on your finger if you’re going to try that stunt. Because if you don’t have some sort of contract, you might be in trouble.”
According to Time Magazine, most participating restaurants are in the South, mostly in Florida, Georgia, Alabama and South Carolina, but some Northern states are participating, too.
