US Customs Agents Seize 2,800 Marijuana 'Carrots'

U.S. Customs agents in Pharr, Texas, discovered the marijuana disguised as carrots. They weren't fooled by the phony produce.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection Customs agents stopped some alleged drug smugglers' half-baked idea of disguising marijuana as carrots.

Customs agents intercepted the phony produce at the Pharr International Bridge cargo facility in Texas.

The smugglers reportedly tried to sneak the 2,800 orange duct tape-wrapped marijuana packages in with actual carrots, but Customs' imaging inspection system flagged the shipment for further examination.

Yes, it appears no produce is innocent, as smugglers have tried the marijuana-carrot trick before. Customs agents found this one about a month ago.

And carrots aren't the only ones. About $480,000 worth of marijuana was found with this shipment of tomatoes.

These four truck beds are filled with cucumbers — or actually look-alike cucumbers. The fake cucumbers were filled with 2,600 pounds of marijuana.

And, while these might look like thirst-quenching refreshments, they're actually 61 pounds of alleged methamphetamine solution found about two months ago.

U.S. Customs says the Department of Homeland Security is investigating this most recent carrot corruption.
