Talk about missing the bowl. An elite skier flushed away his Olympic dreams after losing control of his stream.
18-year-old Robert Vietze-- better known as Sandy -- was kicked off the U.S. National Ski team after urinating on a sleeping 11-year-old girl’s leg while aboard a JetBlue flight.
We know what you’re thinking. Is it really that far from the seat to the lavatory? How could this possibly happen? ABC reports:
“Vietze had consumed at least 8 alcoholic beverages before boarding the flight.”
“…and according to law enforcement sources he said, ‘I was drunk and I did not realize I was [doing it].’”
The New York Post followed the tinkling teen to his home in Vermont, where he zipped by reporters with little to say.
“The leaky loser expressed no remorse outside his family's palatial Vermont home, where he ignored questions about the incident and showed no interest in apologizing to his victim.”
The victim’s father, needless to say, was P.Od when he discovered his daughter at the other end of skiing Sandy’s stream. The father screamed vulgarities at the offender before flight attendants rushed in to separate the pair.
An anchor for News 12 commends the parent for not taking further action.
Anchor 1: He has cancer -- the father of the girl -- they were on their way to visit grandmother on Eastern Long Island. Deserves a medal for not smashing that guys head.
Anchor 1: I know. Boy oh boy. That is unbelievable.
The father says he will not press charges against Vietze, but the young athlete does face a federal charge of indecent exposure -- punishable by up to a year in jail.
And a writer for the Village Voice offers sympathy for the wasted wizzer…
“Let us hope that the dreams of this young Olympic hopeful have not been lost forever because of some mislaid pee.”
Finally, a writer for the Stir says Sandy represents a new low for unpleasant plane passengers.
“You have the bratty, screamy kids and the perfect angels. You have the guy who hogs the armrest and falls asleep blowing his nasty coffee breath right in your face… And then there’s the drunk who pees on your kid's leg.”
A tip for anyone who spots Sandy Vietze on their next ski trip: Don’t eat the yellow snow.
