Six are dead in Texas after a man opened fire on his estranged wife and her relatives at a family birthday party.
KCRA has the details of the shooting -- which happened at a roller skating rink near Dallas.
“The shooter was the father of the birthday boy. He ordered the children to leave the party before shooting his estranged wife and four of her relatives. He then shot and killed himself. At least three others were hurt.”
Police say the shooter was 35-year-old Tan Do. According to Reuters -- he had ongoing marital problems with his 29-year-old wife.
A spokesman for the Grand Prairie Police Department told reporters the shooting lasted only seconds -- and resulted from a domestic situation that - quote - “went south in a hurry.” (VIDEO: KENS-TV)
WFAA in Dallas talked to a witness who describes the scene.
“They just looked terrified. They were several people crying. The kids were oblivious though, because they ranging from 4 to 10 years old.”
Police say -- among the dead were the shooter Tan Do himself -- his wife and her two sisters and brother -- as well as her sister-in-law. Four others were injured. The couple’s children were not harmed.
