Two Topeka, Kansas police officers were fatally shot in the head in the line of duty Sunday night.
Here’s WTTG.

“The 50 and 29-year-old officers were shot outside a grocery store yesterday while responding to reports of a suspicious vehicle.”

The two officers were transported to a local hospital where they later died.
Fox and Friends tells us more about the victims.

“The officers killed were 50-year-old Corporal David Gogian who recently retired from the military. His son is also a Topeka police officer. And 29-year-old Jeff Atherly and he had just joined the force last year.”

According to KWCH, the man suspected of killing the two men -- David Tiscareno -- is now in the hospital after an overnight standoff.
KSHB was live from the scene.

“Police did apprehend someone that was in this house right behind me... We heard gunshots, we heard tear gas being thrown inside the home as they were asking him over the loudspeaker ‘come outside of the house right now.’”

The Topeka police chief said the officers performed “marvelously well at the scene.”
A third officer was at the scene but not injured in the shooting.
