One tweet. That’s all it took to reunite homeless man Danny Morales with his long-lost daughter. But before we delve into the details--CNN interviewed Morales on just how he became homeless in the first place.

DANNY MORALES: “I had an apartment in Harlem and about two months ago, I wasn’t able to pay my rent, so I became homeless...”

Hmmm... but a homeless man with a cell phone? New York CW-affiliate WPIX explains how Morales was given his 140-character miracle maker.

“He joined Twitter three weeks ago, as a project called UnderheardNewYork.com, a website that documents the lives of the homeless. (flash) Now Morales is a Twitter sensation, with thousands of followers.”

...and it was through this organization that Morales came upon his cell phone. New York Fox-affiliate WNYW has video capturing the moment the homeless man received a very unexpected phone call...

MORALES: “I love you, bye. Wow... I just found out by my daughter, I‘ve been looking for her for years and she just called me out of no where! I mean, we’ve been with computers and everything... just now!”

NBC-affiliate WNBC in New York spoke with Morales’ daughter--the very one he hadn’t seen in more than a decade.

SARAH RIVERA: “It’s amazing that the social network, it has some negative aspects behind it, but in all reality, it holds a purpose, and that purpose is that you can instantly find anybody.”

An article from The Gothamist compares Morales to another homeless man who got a big boost from the ‘Net.

“Move over Ted Williams, social media has a new homeless poster boy. Everybody give a warm web welcome to Daniel Morales!”

A writer for rock radio, WGRD, shows her awe--and wasn’t shy expressing that this is a pretty cool story.

“Morales and his daughter were separated when she moved to the US with her mother from their native Puerto Rico and not communicated until this week, when Morales used Twitter to locate her... Man oh man, what are the chances of that!!!”
