Little Rock TV weatherman Brett Cummins probably didn’t forecast his Sunday night in a hot tub to end so cold. Police found 24-year-old Dexter Williams dead inside a jacuzzi tub, naked and wearing a silver dog collar-like chain. Laying asleep beside him?  KARK’s Cummins.

Maumelle police say the homeowner Christopher Barbour found the two men after he heard snoring. Barbour hosted a labor day party at his place the night before. New York Daily News describes what he saw.

“‘Dexter’s head was lying behind Brett’s left shoulder,’ Barbour told police, according to the report. ‘After Brett awoke they discovered that Dexter was not conscious and his face was a different color.’ The meteorologist was horrified.”

Police reports say Cummins woke up, screamed and threw up on the carpet. He then left the home and later went to the police with a statement. KHTV reports, drugs could have been involved.

“Lt. Jim Hansard and other investigators are releasing few details, but we do know from the police report Barbour claims Cummins and Williams began drinking and snorting an illegal narcotic following their arrival the night before.”

KATV reached Williams’ family, who say they are currently preparing for his funeral.

“The family wants answers. Williams’ brother did not want to comment, but say he’s saddened by the news. His friends say he had a kind heart, loved his friends and was full of life.”

So what about Cummins' station? Viewer comments say KARK left out too much information that other stations reported. It did release this statement:

“Our Meteorologist Brett Cummins was at the home at the time of the death and we felt we should share this with our viewers. Brett will not be on the air as he is mourning the loss of his friend.  Our thoughts go out to the family and friends of Dexter Williams.”

Cummins showed up to work Monday, but hasn’t been on-air since the incident. As of right now there are no charges pending or suspects in custody.
