Katherine BiekThe countdown to Thanksgiving has finally started. Hopefully the turkey has been purchased and you know exactly what days all your relatives are coming to visit. But even if you're feeling pretty calm about the impending holiday, you can never really be too prepared, right? So we've put together a list of the top three apps that will help you survive Turkey Day.
First is Uber. This one really isn't for you — it's for all your relatives who are flying in to celebrate.
This way, they can all get their own rides to your house from the airport.
For one, it will give you one last bit of peace and quiet before everyone descends for the long weekend.
And two, AAA predicted 46.9 million Americans are traveling for Thanksgiving, a 300,000-person increase from 2014. That means there's going to be a lot of traffic both on the roads and at airports. Better not to get stuck in that yourself.
Next, an app to help out with what's arguably the most difficult part of Thanksgiving: getting that turkey cooked perfectly.
It's Spotify's Time for Turkey feature, which actually builds you a playlist that'll last for as long as your turkey needs to cook.
Here's how it works: You just select how much your turkey weighs, noting whether there's stuffing inside the bird or not. Then you select one of the generated playlists Spotify has put together. If you're cooking a stuffed 20-pound turkey, the music will play for 5 hours and 15 minutes.
Finally, it's probably a good idea to already have the OpenTable app downloaded on your phone, just in case something goes wrong with the dinner you're preparing.

One restaurant we can guarantee will be open is the Old Homestead Steakhouse in New York City.
According to Time, it's offering a $45,000 Thanksgiving dinner with all the usual trimmings, including caviar and bourbon, for you and seven of your family members or friends. It also comes with tickets to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, a shopping spree at Bergdorf Goodman and a 2-carat diamond engagement ring.
So if you decide to go this route for dinner, a few helpful hints: Make sure you actually have someone to propose too, and you'll probably want to plan to burn your own turkey from the get-go. This sounds like the sort of pricey meal you plan in advance.
