A new iPhone app, TigerText, deletes text messages from both the sender and receiver’s phone once they’re read.
The app’s slogan, “covering your tracks” might've been music to a certain Tiger’s ears last year. So is this new app perfect for privacy, or just a chance to cheat?
TigerText also deletes messages from servers — leaving no trace of texts. CNET is app happy.
“This concept seems brilliant on so many levels that my vast and excited arms cannot embrace all of these levels simultaneously.”
TigerText’s creators say it gives people privacy in today’s invasive technological world. But GeekSugar.com isn’t buying their argument.
“ … technology makes infidelity easier, and now a new app seems to basically encourage it — or at least enable it. … take advantage of this wonderful bit of technology (can you sense the sarcasm?)”
And CNN gathered some thoughts from possible Tigertexters.
“Truthfully, I think it’s very sketchy.”
“It’s very sneaky."
"Oh, I don’t know, I kind of like it. People should be able to have their privacy.”
The creators say TigerText isn’t named after Tiger Woods, but instead after actual tigers because they’re hard to track. GadgetCrave doesn’t believe this name game, and says the name alone is enough to make a spouse suspicious.
“Tiger’s name is now filthy enough to tarnish just about anything, so just having this app on your phone may be enough to get a club to the head…”
So are you ready to pounce on TigerText, or do you find this app appalling?
