They cut off his what?! A Kentucky man went under the knife for a circumcision, but woke up after surgery -- surprised to find more that just the tip was gone.
“I pulled the dressing down and didn’t see nothing and then I come outta the restroom and said I’m getting the hell outta this damn hospital.”
WLKY News says in 2007, Seaton went in for the procedure. But during surgery, the doctor found cancer on Seaton’s penis -- and decided to take action... removing one inch of the truck driver’s member.
“He said I got good news and bad news, he said the bad news is, you’ve got cancer, but the good news is, I cut some of your penis off.”
Doctor John Patterson says it was an effort to save Seaton’s life, but ABC news says Seaton’s now suing for the surgical shortening...
“A Kentucky man who lost his manhood during a surgical procedure is taking his case to court, Phiillip Seaton, seen here with his wife, has filed a civil suit against the doctor who performed the surgery.”
Seeking unspecified damages for “loss of service, love and affection,” Seaton says he never gave consent for the procedure.
But IBTIMES.TV says Patterson claims it was signed off on.
“Dr. Patterson maintains that the amputation was necessary after finding life threatening cancer in the operation and that Mr. Seaton had signed a document authorizing necessary treatment in unforeseen circumstances.”
Seaton did sign those documents -- But here’s the kicker -- he can’t read or write.
"It’s unclear just how much the hospital staff read him word for word and how much was paraphrased, did you ask your wife to read it to you? No... Question, did you ever ask anyone to read it to you? No."
Seaton says he no longer feels like a man and what his doctor did was wrong because Seaton never had the opportunity to explore other treatment options. The trial is still ongoing.
