The DNC's Youngest Delegate Waited Half Her Life For This

Rachel Gonzalez told her mother in 2008 she wanted to vote for Hillary Clinton. She was crushed when she found out she wasn't old enough to vote yet.

Rachel Gonzalez is the Democratic National Convention's youngest delegate at just 17 years old (she'll turn 18 by Election Day). Gonzalez was just 9 when she turned to her mother in 2008 and said she wanted to vote for Hillary Clinton. When her mother informed her of the legal voting age, Gonzalez was crushed — and began counting down the 3,000-plus days until the 2016 general election.
